About La Palma
La Palma is a municipality in northern Chalatenango known for its handicrafts. The naïve style popularized by artist Fernando Llort is applied to facades, ceramics, seeds, and fabric since the 1970s. This makes La Palma one of the most representative artisan hubs in El Salvador. The town is also a gateway to the highlands of Chalatenango, with access to Cerro El Pital and the Miramundo area. The region combines painting workshops, high-altitude coffee, and landscapes of pine forests with a cool climate year-round.
