Alegría is a municipality in the mountains of Northern Usulután, in the Tecapa-Chinameca range, featuring a cool climate and frequent fog. Less than two kilometers from the town lies the Laguna de Alegría, nestled within the crater of the Tecapa volcano, known as the Emerald of America for its sulfurous green color. The town is home to nurseries of ornamental plants, coffee plantations, and the Cartagena Ecological Park in its urban center. The area also offers viewpoints over the valley, including several within Finca Rauda, with panoramic platforms offering 360-degree views.
