About Zacatecoluca

Zacatecoluca is the capital of the La Paz department, located in the central coastal plain of the country. Its colonial layout is preserved around the central park and the parish church, and the city is the birthplace of José Matías Delgado, a hero of Central American independence. Just a few minutes from the center is Ichanmichen, a recreational park fed by natural springs with more than a dozen pools and ponds. The city celebrates its patron saint festivities in honor of the Virgin of the Assumption, from August 15 to 18, among the most lively in the department.
