Salinitas is a beach in Acajutla, located in the western part of Sonsonate, featuring gray sand, rocky outcrops, and reefs. It is primarily a hotel zone: the Royal Decameron operates there, in the Punta Remedios canton, along with other hotels and beachfront villas. Its waters are renowned for diving and snorkeling, home to rays, groupers, octopuses, and reef fish, as well as remnants of 19th-century shipwrecks. Kayaking, boat rides, and fishing are also popular activities. Most access to the beach is through the hotels.
