About Walter Thilo Deininger Adventure Park
Just a few kilometers from the coast of La Libertad, Walter Thilo Deininger Park protects approximately 732 hectares of dry forest, small savannas, and riverine vegetation. In addition to its trails and viewpoints overlooking the Pacific, it offers canopy tours, rappelling, via ferrata, and rope circuits. The park can be enjoyed as an adventure experience or as a peaceful visit to explore one of the country's least common coastal ecosystems.

Brief History
The 1,047 acres that make up the park were donated to the state in 1970 by Walter Thilo Deininger, after whom it is named. The land helped preserve one of the last fragments of dry forest on the Salvadoran coast. In 2021, the park was renovated and transformed into a space that combines environmental protection, hiking, and adventure sports as part of the Surf City project.

Entrance hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the general schedule for the protected natural areas of MARN.
Bring cash: not all locations accept card payments. And remember that single-use plastic is prohibited in all protected areas.
