El Jagüey Beach

Beach at the tip of the Conchagua Peninsula, La Unión, right where the open Pacific meets the mouth of the Gulf of Fonseca. It features rocky formations along the shore, palm trees right up to the sand, and a clear view of the islands in the gulf. The water is calm and the crowds are minimal.

El Jagüey occupies a position that no other beach in the country can replicate: it is at the point where the Pacific coastline ends and the Gulf of Fonseca begins. From its sands, you can see the islands of the gulf and, on clear days, the outlines of the coasts of Honduras and Nicaragua. This maritime border condition between three countries is what transformed it into a natural viewpoint rather than just a bathing beach.
