About White House
Casa Blanca allows you to explore the history of Chalchuapa from different perspectives. In addition to walking through the remains of its ancient ceremonial center, you can visit a museum that houses the only known Maya stela with writing in El Salvador, observe the layers of soil in its archaeological window, and discover how indigo is transformed into a vibrant blue dye.

Brief History
Casa Blanca was part of the development of Chalchuapa, a pre-Hispanic city with at least 3,200 years of continuous occupation. Its ceremonial center reached its peak importance during the Late Preclassic period, approximately between 400 B.C. and 200 A.D., when the monumental activity that began in El Trapiche spread to this area. Its platforms and structures reflect the role that Chalchuapa played as one of the main regional centers in western El Salvador.

Visit Tips
Entrance: $1 for Salvadorans, $3 for Central Americans and resident foreigners, $5 for non-residents. Residents of Chalchuapa, students with a valid ID, people with disabilities, seniors, and children under 12 enter for free.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed on Mondays.
It is 5 minutes from Tazumal: both parks can be visited in the same morning. The guided tour lasts from 35 to 45 minutes, in groups of up to 15 people.
