Méndez Island

Méndez Island is a beach located in the bar of the Jiquilisco Bay, in the municipality of Jiquilisco, Usulután. It sits on the bar that separates the mangrove from the Pacific Ocean, featuring an open beach with dark sand. You can reach it by boat through the bay or via the local road. It is a nesting area for sea turtles and a starting point for mangrove tours. There are a few eateries and basic services available. The visit combines beach, mangrove, and birdwatching experiences.
